EK Success Brands, under American Crafts, offers a wide range of high-quality crafting products, from scrapbooking supplies to cutting tools and embellishments. Known for its user-friendly designs, the brand caters to both beginners and experienced crafters, with popular lines like Jolee's Boutique and K&Company. Focused on inspiring creativity, EK Success Brands delivers innovative tools and materials that help crafters bring their ideas to life while fostering a strong community through workshops and project ideas.
The Challenge
When Kristen from EK Success Brands contacted me about designing for their holiday product line, I couldn’t have been more excited! She was looking for fun and fresh artwork to bring some extra creativity to their upcoming holiday collection, which they were preparing to pitch to Paper Source. I was eager to dive in and bring some festive magic to the designs!
The Goal
Design a set of three coordinating treat tins, each with a festive theme and paired with matching die-cut shaped tags. The tins needed to be visually cohesive, working together as a perfect set for gifting during the holidays.
The Solution
I began by putting together a moodboard and color palette so Kristen and I could make sure we were on the same page for the vision of the 3 treat tins and matching tags. Once we both felt aligned, I moved on to clean black-and-white sketches to finalize the layout and content. After getting the green light, I brought the designs to life in full color. Everything was drawn in Adobe Fresco as vector art, which I then polished up in Adobe Illustrator, adding textured vector brushes for extra detail.
The Results
I rendered the designs to be presentation-ready for the Paper Source pitch, making sure they fully captured the vision Kristen and I had developed together. Kristen was thrilled with the results, and we quickly teamed up on many more projects, helping EK Success Brands secure new business not only with Paper Source but with TJ Maxx as well!
