EK Success Brands, under American Crafts, offers a wide range of high-quality crafting products, from scrapbooking supplies to cutting tools and embellishments. Known for its user-friendly designs, the brand caters to both beginners and experienced crafters, with popular lines like Jolee's Boutique and K&Company. Focused on inspiring creativity, EK Success Brands delivers innovative tools and materials that help crafters bring their ideas to life while fostering a strong community through workshops and project ideas.
The Challenge
When Kristen from EK Success Brands reached out to me about designing for their holiday product line, I was thrilled to work with her again! As a repeat client, our partnership has allowed me to collaborate on several exciting projects, and this one was no exception. She was looking for fun and fresh artwork to enhance their upcoming holiday collection, which they were preparing to pitch to Papersource. I couldn’t wait to dive in and add some festive magic to the designs!
The Goal
Design holiday stickers, holiday gift tag stickers, fall gift tag stickers and holiday pennant tag packs that felt elevated, fresh and on trend.
The Solution
I began by putting together a moodboard and color palette for each product type so Kristen and I could make sure we were on the same page for the visions. Once we both felt aligned, I moved on to clean black-and-white sketches to finalize the layout and content. For the gift tags I specifically designed to the size of the stickers making sure each detail was visible. Everything was drawn in Adobe Fresco as vector art, which I then polished up in Adobe Illustrator, adding textured vector brushes for extra detail.
The Results
Because my files were so clean and detailed, Kristen was able to easily incorporate the designs into her buying presentations for Paper Source. This attention to quality and organization has been key in maintaining our long-term partnership. By providing her with ready-to-use files, I’ve helped streamline her workflow and made it simpler for her to present our collaborative ideas. This level of professionalism fosters trust and efficiency in our relationship, allowing us to take on even more exciting projects together over time. I truly value the collaborative spirit we’ve built, and I’m always eager to support her vision in the best way possible!
